Apps

An App is a next step after a Story. While Stories bundle various Operations and Viewers, an App is an application that is published in the Pipeline. The App outputs results from specified Stories, and the end-user does not need insight into the analysis. Therefore an App-Dashboard is created with the App, displaying the most relevant results of the Stories. The App-Dashboard is updated automatically when new data is available.

There is also a notification system that sends out notifications to selected users on particular events of the App execution.

After an App is created, you can publish it using the Pipeline tool.

Creating an App

After you have entered basic details about the App, you can add multiple Stories to it. To do so, select the App in the upper left field. A preview of the collapsed Story will show in the left panel. You can choose any element of the Story-Preview to see its data nodes, i.e., its input and output signal. Select a data node to see more details in the upper right field. The notification system allows you to define notifiers for specific events. Select the Users that should be notified and describe the event that triggers the notification. Therefore you can select any dataset and set the notification event based on a comparison. E.g., you can start an alarm when a specific value exceeds a threshold in a dataset.

Dashboard

After selecting Stories for the App and setting up the notification system, you can define a Dashboard for the App. The Dashboard can show any Viewer from the Stories and serves as the front page of the App. Therefore you can select the most relevant Viewers from the included Stories and place them within the Dashboard.

Select any Viewer from the left panel. In the bottom panel, you will see all plots from that Viewer. You can select one of the plots and move it to the right side of this panel to add it to the Dashboard. By clicking on Preview, the preliminary Dashboard is shown in the main window.
